Recipe for removal of bitterness…

I was going to participate in the poetry month for April but I realize it takes up so much of my time, so I’m going to do it intermittently… 🙂
This is my recipe for April the first! (one day late)

recipe for bitterness

Mix in sweet gratitude and let it seep…
Take dollops
of surrender
And pour in deep…
Let presence enfold you
immersing the pain,
on a low heat of forgiveness
whisk in the remains…
of grace and mercy,
with heapfuls of love,
blended with compassion,
and using kit gloves,
sharpness will boil away, as you ladel out blessings
count them very slowly,
it may be messy…
it may take courage to let it dissolve,
bake on high and
you will evolve…

bitterness is removed
with loads of patience
serve with love
and dedication…

Scattered blues…

monday blues

On days like this, in scattered blues
I’m quenched by
cerulean hues,
and breath gasps towards the heavens,
groping for
favorable blessings…

My feet unstable on the ground,
in ripples that splash,
conceding sounds,
that heave
beneath
melancholy sighs,
the lingering residue that stains the skies…

My spirit tossed into the waves,
acquiescing to
mercurial shades…

The Outcast

“Our hearts of stone become hearts of flesh when we learn where the outcast weeps”
Brennan Manning, Abba’s Child: The Cry of the Heart for Intimate Belonging

beings of light

When you see an Earthling, rejected and alone,
touch the light within him,
and remind him of his home.

Divine light dwells,
in every living being,
heaven uncovered by life’s broken dreams.

Hallowed Corridors

“And when the work of grieving is done,
The wound of loss will heal
And you will have learned
To wean your eyes
From that gap in the air
And be able to enter the hearth
In your soul where your loved one
Has awaited your return
All the time.”
― John O’DonohueTo Bless the Space Between Us: A Book of Blessings

light a candle 3

I only wanted
light and love
and a bright morning star,
instead I got
wounds and fears
and agonizing scars!

Today I light a candle
in remembrance
of you,
I’ll brave
this present darkness
just to get
me through!

I accept Divine providence
because love
does not
go out!
In these hallowed corridors
there are
Angels devout!

The holy ground
I occupy
is my hiding place
with courage and surrender
I am tempered
with grace!

Surrendered

“Each of us actually believes that things should be the way we want them, instead of being the natural result of all the forces of creation.”
― Mickey A. SingerThe Surrender Experiment: My Journey into Life’s Perfection

sunset 3

In this orderly Universe
I’ve watched birds fly north.
They have inbuilt navigation
and never veer off course.

Flowers hold a memory
to blossom every spring,
and robins transform heartache
when they eloquently sing.

The roosters crow each morning,
at the glimpse of first light,
and butterflies evade obstacles,
even in slanted flight.

Nature is so lovely
in its rhythm and flow,
the moon heaves the oceans
with its magnetic glow.

Surrendered to the forces
natural to creation,
we can make our time on earth,
a joyous celebration!

There’s an echo in our beings
that whispers to our hearts,
it’s the trueness of our essence,
that sacredly imparts!

Pathways

“So at the end of this day, we give thanks
for being betrothed to the unknown.”
― John O’Donohue

pathways

when words elude me
and images fade,
i find my shelter,
beyond the charade!

in quiet surrender
under benevolent sun,
preconceptions unravel
to notions undone!

in this place unknown
grace shows the way,
pathway to transcendence,
wordless bouquets!
